Alison’s platform supports learners in building job-ready skills for in-demand roles, and provides tools such as resume building and career assessments. Moreover, the courses are accessible even in low internet connectivity areas, making education widely available worldwide.

A pioneering initiative that provides free, open access to virtually all MIT course content. This is an unparalleled resource for self-learners in engineering, science, and technology.

United Nations eLearning Platforms and Portals

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) provides innovative learning solutions to individuals, organizations and institutions to enhance global decision-making and support country-level action for shaping a better future.

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn) is a joint initiative of more than 30 multilateral organizations helping countries to achieve climate change action both through general climate literacy and applied skills development. UN CC:Learn provides strategic advice and quality learning resources to help people, governments and businesses to understand, adapt, and build resilience to climate change. UN CC:Learn is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

The Peace Operations Training Institute offers self-paced e-learning courses on current topics in peace support, humanitarian relief, gender awareness, and security operations.

All courses are available in a downloadable PDF format. To take a course, students enrol on the POTI website or through the POTI classroom app and study the text at their own pace. Each course contains all needed reading materials, learning objectives, and self-scoring End-of-Lesson Quizzes. Upon the completion of their studies, students have two opportunities to earn a passing grade of 75 per cent on a unique multiple-choice End-of-Course Examination through their online classroom. Upon passing the exam, they are awarded their own customized Certificate of Completion.

The FAO elearning Academy offers free access to content on a variety of topics of global interest, which is available in a range of formats, including elearning courses for self-paced learning, blended learning programmes, massive open online courses (MOOCs), technical webinars, online tutored courses, mobile learning, face-to-face training workshops and university master’s and postgraduate degree programmes.
